Spring Oaks Choir

The Spring Oaks Middle School Choirs are a vital and growing part of the SOMS Fine Arts Department. There are many ways for any interested student to be a successful member of our exciting team.
SOMS choirs have five different groups that meet during and after school. These are the Sixth Grade Treble Choir, the Seventh and Eighth Grade Mixed Choir, the Advanced Chorale, the Boys Ensemble, and the Girls Ensemble. These groups give more than 200 students an outlet for their vocal talents. Students not only participate in large groups, there are also solo opportunities such as the Solo & Ensemble Contest, Region choir auditions, as well as the school musical.

We give numerous varied performances throughout any given year. In addition to our regular Fall, Winter, and Spring concerts, we have performed at PTA meetings, Veterans' Day celebrations, the school drug rally, Memorial City Mall, an area nursing home, and in PAW classes for the student body.

The Spring Oaks Choir is growing and adding to its list of accomplishments. In the past, we have attended Pops in the Parks Festival in New Braunfels Texas and received not only straight "ones" from all judges, but the trophy for the most outstanding Middle School Girls Ensemble to compete in the Festival. Recently we achieved a new first, triple sweepstakes at UIL!
