About Me

This is my 18th year teaching at Spring Oaks Middle School.  I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. (Go Longhorns!!!)   My degree is in Secondary Education, specializing in Math. I also attended the University of Alicante in Alicante, Spain where I studied Spanish and the Spanish culture.  I really enjoy teaching Middle School Math, especially 6th grade.  I also love to travel, scrapbook and read.  I am looking forward to a great school year.

Our goal in 6th grade is to help with a smooth transition to middle school. Our content includes ratios, fractions, proportional thinking, algebraic thinking, measurement, probability and geometry. We also want to help provide our students with confidence and better problem solving skills.

In sixth grade math, we have an assignment every day, and it is graded on completion only.  All work must be shown for the student to receive a 100.

Make-Ups and Tutorials

Tutorials are available Tuesday  and Thursday mornings.  Other times are available by appointment.  Morning tutorials are held from 7:45 to 8:20 .  Students choosing to stay for after school tutorials may take the late bus home.
 
Retake tests will be scheduled as needed.
