October 4, Superintendent, Dr. Duncan Klussman visited with teachers and staff at SOMS to discuss the district's five year plan for education.
Safety:  SBISD will have a pervasive culture of safety.

Student Performance:  SBISD will be a school district of excellence as measured by community, state, national and international standards for student achievement. SBISD will be the premier college-focused district in the State of Texas and will prepare all students for post-secondary success. SBISD students will be engaged in an enriched and relevant Pre-K-12 curriculum that promotes creativity and achievement. Operations:  SBISD will be fiscally responsible and efficiently use all resources, human, time and monetary, to support student achievement.

Community:  Students, parents, and community will be active partners in student education.

People:  SBISD, as the employer of choice, will reward excellence and provide opportunities for continual growth
