The Campus Improvement Team (CIT) is a site-based decision making team that meets monthly to review those areas of campus concern designated by State law and SBISD district policy. The CIT discusses information and makes recommendations to the Principal. The CIT also monitors  (TAKS)information and is instrumental in the development and execution of the CIT.

The Campus Improvement Team (CIT) has an important role in the success of SOMS students. The CAT team meets once a month during the evening. The team consists of representatives from parents, business, and community organizations as well as eight members from the SOMS staff. Positions from SOMS involve a member from each department as well as one non-teaching position and an at large position.

Membership on the CIT involves:

• representation of faculty and staff

• active problem-solving

• good communication skills

• commitment to district and campus vision, goals and objectives

• conviction that proactive leadership creates positive learning environments for all

• time and effort commitment
