Spring Oaks is a middle school with a rich tradition of excellence. In 1995-1996, Spring Oaks was named a National Blue Ribbon school by the U.S. Department of Education. For the past five years, Spring Oaks has been named a Recognized campus by the Texas Education Association. We are very fortunate to have outstanding teachers and students. Our motto is "Excellence through Determination" and our goal is that each child achieves academic excellence. We also believe very strongly in educating the “whole” child by providing students a variety of opportunities to grow and develop their skills and talents outside the classroom.

Our faculty and staff work together as a team to offer students the best learning and growth opportunities available at the middle school level. The Spring Oaks faculty believes in a structured, positive environment where students can maintain their focus on learning. We teach our students the values of respect, responsibility, good behavior, and helping others. Our teachers go the extra mile to ensure that students master the middle school curriculum by tutoring students during advisory period and after school. Our students are actively involved in band, orchestra, choir, athletics, art, theater arts, and student council.

In 2003-2004 Spring Oaks was named to the prestigious “TBEC Honor Roll” by the Texas Business and Education Coalition. This award recognizes campuses for sustained academic excellence. The following is an excerpt from the TBEC awards program:

"Not only have these schools achieved academic excellence, but continue to do so displaying the energy, innovation, and determination that fosters their students’ growth and success. To illustrate just how impressive and special the schools included on the TBEC Honor Roll are, in 2003, only 117 of the 7,318 public schools in Texas qualified for the award."

We are confident our eighth grade students from last year were well prepared for Spring Woods High School, and this year’s sixth  graders are already making a successful transition to middle school. We are looking forward to a great year in 2005-2006!
