Exciting career pathways are waiting for you! Discover them during Destination Success Career Exploration event

Career exploration is essential for students to make informed decisions when choosing a pathway.

Students and families have the opportunity to learn about multiple career opportunities during Spring Branch ISD’s inaugural Career and Technical Education (CTE) Destination Success Career Exploration event on Saturday, Nov. 12 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Spring Woods High School, 2045 Gessner Rd.

During the event, attendees will have an opportunity to visit booths and ask career representatives questions about training and educational requirements, career growth opportunities, salary potential and job market in surrounding areas, among other things.

“Our goal is to equip students with knowledge regarding potential careers,” said Christina Rice-Imumwen, CTE director. “Events like this help guide students and parents in a fun and engaging way. The event will be filled with interactive activities that allow them to explore various career options.”

Career representatives will place a sticker on the “passport” provided to attendees marking the booths that have been visited. Participants can bring their sticker-filled passport to the prize station for a chance to be entered into a raffle for scholarship opportunities and prizes.

CTE instructors and current students across the 26 programs of study will be engaging in hands-on demonstrations and activities to give attendees a glimpse of the exciting learning opportunities available. Students and their families will have the chance to inquire about the different programs and the best fit for them.

CTE provides challenging career pathways for all students, utilizing real world practices and evolving skill sets, attitudes and behaviors. The program helps students reach SBISD’s T-2-4 vision, where every graduate attains a technical certificate, military training or a two-year or four-year degree.
