Welcome, Principal Mark Smith! Spring Oaks Middle School is proud to welcome Mark Smith as its new principal.
After a distinguished 37-year career in education, Principal Smith realized retirement wasn't the end of his journey. Following successful leadership at Northbrook High School and Spring Woods Middle School as interim principal, he is excited to continue serving the Spring Branch ISD community at Spring Oaks.
Principal Smith believes great schools are built on Excellence and Belonging.
As a leader, he describes himself with one word: Empowering.
He believes the best leaders help others discover their strengths, build confidence and succeed together.

✨ SOMS Bright Moment ✨ Congratulations to Spring Oaks Middle School student Nicholas M., whose watercolor sheep was featured in the SBISD Rodeo Art Showcase at the Altharetta Yeargin Art Museum (AYAM)! 🎨🐑 Nicholas proudly visited the exhibit in full rodeo style, complete with a cowboy hat and belt buckle, to see his artwork displayed alongside hundreds of pieces from talented student artists across the district. His work reflects the creativity, dedication, and artistic talent that make SOMS shine. If your child plans to participate in athletics next school year, be sure to complete all required UIL paperwork and submit a physical dated after April 1. Most forms can be completed online, with the completed physical turned in to a coach. Stay tuned for information about on-campus physical opportunities this summer.
